A branch is a self-contained business unit with its own physical location. Balance sheets and specific letterheads can be created for a branch. A warehouse is a business unit that works as a depot for stock with inventory transactions being linked to the warehouse. Please note that a branch or the company itself can be its own warehouse, in which case there is no extra charge for that warehouse.

The standard subscription does not include branches or subsidiaries. When adding branches the basic subscription covers the consolidated company and the main warehouse while each branch/subsidiary/independant warehouse is charged at the specified fee. Reports can be automatically consolidated for the company or produced for a specific branch.

Please note that the price for additional branches or companies are fixed charges and are user independant. In other words, the charge for additional companies is the same whether you have one or many users.

3)With subsidiaries group operating statements are available.
4)A consignment warehouse is a warehouse set up with a customer for goods on consigment. Only one customer can pick stock from a consignment warehouse.

You are not required to subscribe to Practice Management or Professional Accountant to get access to client books. If you have a client that uses SMARTEDGE you can sign up for Independent Accountant Access. This will grant you access to your clients books, provided that your client adds you as a business advisor. There is no charge to you or your client for this service.

Signup

1)Professional Accountant users come in packages of five users. The price is for five initial users. Additional packages of five users can be added at the same price.

Client companies get the functionality available in edition BT3 Accounting.

For clients that want full access to their information you can add client users. This allows them to work on the system themselves. Such clients are charged at normal subscription fees, and they can get access to any of SMARTEDGE's Software Editions.

3)Client companies can have their own read only user to view reports and other information captured by you.

The Web Portal price is per customer/supplier that have been granted access to the Web Portal by you. In other words, if you have 100 customers and you allow 30 of these customers access to your Web Portal, the charge is R 75.00 / month (R 2.50 * 30 customers).

Storage and Bandwidth Charges

Included storage and bandwidth is sufficient for most companies and users. Bandwidth is charged on data exchanged between SMARTEDGE and you, and is capped because of the high bandwidth charges in South Africa. Excess bandwidth is usually only required when big documents are downloaded frequently. Any documents produced by SMARTEDGE, such as invoices etc are quite small (average 5K pluss letterhead in size).

Storage and bandwidth is calculated on company usage, which means that unused space or bandwidth by one user can be used by another user.

SMARTEDGE Advisor Network

SMARTEDGE recognises the importance of accountant access to enable improved productivity and efficiency. Therefore, your external accountant is included as a free additional user. Additional external advisors can be added at the listed prices. An external advisor cannot be an employee, must be an independantly registered business and his or hers main occupation cannot be with your company.
